Technology

The engineering you don't see, on every order.

We studied how the world's largest delivery platforms work, then rebuilt the parts that matter for African cities. Here's what that gives you, without the recipe.

Arrival times you can keep

Times come from how long each store has really taken, how busy it is right now and the trip itself, shown as a range with how sure we are. When a store says 15 minutes but takes 30, customers see 30.

Dispatch that thinks in directions

Orders going the same way are grouped for one rider, never mixing a store that is running late with one that is ready. Multi-stop trips get a planned route where a drop-off can never come before its pickup.

Search in the local language

Search understands meaning as well as words, so local names, slang and spelling slips still find the right product. If the smart search is ever unavailable, plain search takes over without anyone noticing.

Recommendations that respect the street

What a customer sees blends their own habits, what sells together, what is moving in their area right now, distance and fair ratings, while making sure no single store owns the screen.

Riders keep working offline

The rider app queues every status update when signal drops and sends them in order when it returns.

Ready for load-shedding

Store pauses, slot limits and honest messages mean a power cut becomes a short delay, not a failed order and a refund.

One platform, many countries

Each region has its own currency, clock, languages, tax, payment methods and, if required, its own database, all on the same code. A new country is a configuration and a checklist.

Security from the start

Locked-down sign-in keys per server, verified robot checks on public forms, a tamper-evident audit log, and card details that never touch our servers.

Data-light on purpose

Images are resized and compressed for each screen, with a data-saver mode for customers paying for every megabyte.

How it's built

Tested like it handles money, because it does.

Every change to the platform runs through hundreds of automated tests on a freshly built copy of the system before it is accepted, covering orders, payments, payouts, invoices, territories and security.

  • Every AI feature has a plain fallback. If a model is unavailable, the platform keeps working.
  • New features ship switched off and are turned on zone by zone.
  • A launch check lists everything between a new server and real orders before anyone goes live.
